Okavango Delta | Private Linyanti Reserve
A Rare Journey Through Botswana’s Wild Heart…
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: a privately guided, 7-day/6-night departure through Botswana, reserved for just 6 guests. You’ll stay at two of the region’s most exclusive camps, Qorokwe and Savuti, traveling from the sparkling channels of the Okavango Delta to the wild, wildlife-rich plains of the Linyanti region.
Leading the journey is Letsogile “Lets” Kamogelo, one of Botswana’s most celebrated guides. An artist and photographer at heart, Lets brings more than 20 years of experience navigating this vast wilderness. With him at the helm from start to finish, you’ll gain a rare, in-depth understanding of the intricate ecosystems that make this UNESCO World Heritage Site so extraordinary; insight that comes from a single expert guide who knows the land intimately, rather than a rotating cast of camp guides.
Our chosen camps sit in private concessions where you’ll encounter few, if any, other travelers. It’s just you, your guide, and the wilderness. With thrilling game drives, immersive walking safaris, and (water levels permitting) tranquil mokoro canoe outings through the Delta’s glassy channels, you’ll come face-to-face with Africa’s most iconic wildlife.
For a longer adventure, we can extend before or after your safari with add-on options: marvel at the thundering power of Victoria Falls, explore the vibrant culture and scenery of Cape Town, or continue your journey with further safari time in Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa, and beyond.
About Our Guide: Meet Lets
Letsogile “Lets” Kamogelo, is a naturalist and conservationist. Raised in the Tuli Block in eastern Botswana, where nature dominates, he painted wildlife and nature as a child. Realizing his true passion, he spent a year teaching arts and crafts in a middle school before turning to studying Hospitality and Tourism. Since 2007, Lets has guided clients throughout Botswana’s most remarkable wilderness areas, where his artistic flair was soon transformed into a talent for photography. He won his first photographic award in 2012, and has since presented at the Wild Shots Photographic Symposium in Cape Town. In his own words, “Photography has improved my anticipation of wildlife and helps me to put my guests in the right position at the right time to capture great images”.
In addition to his passion for photography, Lets enjoys walking in the wild with his guests, and is passionate about sharing his knowledge of the unique geology and history of Botswana. He enjoys researching and reading about the other natural areas of the world. As an avid birder, number one on his bucket list is a trip to South America to see the colourful birdlife and experience its diverse habitats.
Our professionally guided safari begins with a short bush flight from Maun, to a private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, in Botswana's eastern Okavango Delta. This is a landscape of remarkable contrasts - open floodplains fringed by mopane woodland, palm-strewn islands, and seasonal lagoons, creating a mosaic of habitats that supports one of the Delta's most diverse ecosystems.
Qorokwe enjoys one of the finest game-viewing areas in the Delta, where predator sightings are exceptional. Lion, leopard, and cheetah all can be found in the tapestry of grassland and bush, and share the landscape with elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and large herds of antelope.
We'll venture out on morning and afternoon game drives; and after dark, we may encounter species rarely seen by day, including aardvark, aardwolf, porcupine, and genet. With our specialist guide licensed to lead walking safaris, we'll have a chance to slow the pace and learn how expert guides interpret tracks and signs. Depending on seasonal water levels, we may embark on mokoro excursions through the Delta's quiet channels. Keen birders will appreciate endemic species such as Pel's Fishing Owl and a wide variety of wading birds.
The camp itself is intimate, with eight elegant tented suites plus one spacious family unit with its own plunge pool, all overlooking a beautiful lagoon. Between safari activities, there is time to relax at the infinity pool or simply watch the constant procession of wildlife from the comfort of camp.
On day 4, a short scenic bushflight brings us from the watery wilderness of the Okavango Delta into the private Linyanti Concession of northern Botswana, a wilderness famed for its shifting waters and enormous elephant populations.
Set beside the legendary Savute Channel, our intimate camp offers one of Botswana's most dramatic land-based safari experiences year-round. The channel itself has a mind of its own - flowing strongly in wetter years to draw thirsty wildlife from across the region, or receding to reveal open grassland that draws grazers and the predators that follow them.
Game drives often reveal lion, leopard, and African wild dog, while elephant move through camp, alongside buffalo, giraffe, zebra, kudu, and general plains game. Night drives along the channel add a further dimension, while guided nature walks offer a slower-paced way to learn the smaller details of the bush. Boat-based safari excursions are also available when water levels permit.
With just seven spacious tents, including a family unit, all raised on decks, Savuti offers an intimate and authentic bush atmosphere. A thatched dining area, small plunge pool, and viewing deck overlook the channel, creating the perfect setting to unwind after each day's adventures.
